Painted by the Koorie artists & reflecting a deep relationship between the land & aboriginal culture. It is signed on the back with BNYM & this Aboriginal corporation is fully owned & operated by indigenous people from the Gippsland region of South-eastern Australia. It features the turtle & pathways to the sea. It's 38 cm in diameter & about 8 cm deep.
The name BNYM (pronounced “Binum”) is an anagram of the tribes of the founding members: B for Bungalung, N for Naragu, Y for Yorta Yorta, and M for Muttie Muttie.
The aim of the company was to showcase the wealth of Gippsland Indigenous culture to national and international audiences. And for over ten years now, it has been doing just that.
