Shona Nicholls, from Sapphire in Central Queensland, paints predominantly in watercolours since discovering their magical powers two decades ago. It was an easy exchange from oils and pastels, as the flowing nature of the watercolours suited her impromptu, creative style. Now 20 years down the track she still finds pleasure and passion using this medium. The native Australian animals and birds that live in her outback surrounds are a constant inspiration for her paintings.
